About the companyfirstleaf was established in 2004 by Derek Lewis, when he returned to live and work in his home village in North Pembrokeshire. After working in agricultural research for 25 years, Derek decided to develop a specialist salad business growing extremely small leaves of herbs and salads called microgreens or microleaves. The company takes it’s name from the first true leaves produced by a seedling plant. In 2006, Derek started growing edible flowers and peashoots and continues to develop new and interesting products to add to the range. We supply salad leaves across South West Wales throughout the year. Our edible flowers are supplied during the summer season only to our normal delivery area and since 2008, we can now send flowers by special delivery to most places in the UK. |

Responsible GrowingIt is important to us that we practice responsible growing. All our produce is grown in an environmentally friendly way in protected conditions. We do not use pesticides or excessive energy. We have acheived Green Dragon Level 2 for our environmental management of the company.
